Overview

This essential lesson observation in-school training programme reviews the characteristics of effective learning and teaching against new Ofsted criteria and how these can be recognised in the classroom. Improving Classroom Observation develops and improves the skills of classroom observation, focusing on what to write down and how to feedback to teachers. By actively involving all teachers in the lesson observation process they can begin to feel more comfortable about the benefits of observation as a form of professional development.

Outcomes

  • Recognise the quality of lessons by referring to the new Ofsted criteria for evaluating learning and teaching.
  • Know what to record from lesson observations and how to record it.
  • Provide useful feedback to colleagues.
